Mr. Prakash Devji, Managing Director of the Devji Group of Jewellers inaugurated DEVJI-BKS Balakalotsavam 2008. Mr. Ajith Kumar, General Manager, LIC International and Mr. T. Thomas, Marketing Manager, LIC were the Guests of Honour followed by variety entertainments. 

The talent extravaganza has, through the years, been a platform for the members’ children to showcase and compete in various events; which are classified as Talent Test and Talent Nite. The former consists of items that test the child’s speaking, poetry recitation and artistic skills, whereas the latter tests the child’s singing, dancing and acting skills.

The contests are for children from the age of five to seventeen, divided into five age groups. Like in previous years, at least 350 children of various age groups are expected to participate in a total of 125 events. The child winning the highest number of points is awarded the Group Championship. 

The child with the highest points and meet further conditions, as mentioned in the rules and regulations, will be crowned the coveted Titles, Kalathilakam and Kalaprathiba for girls and boys respectively.

A committee has been constituted under the convenor of Mr. Tiji Mathew to conduct the competition.
